Mackay Links

	Look for the links directing to the "A Slice of History" that is broadcast each Wednesday morning at 6.50am on Anne O'Keeffe's morning show. You will need Real Player to listen to the sound bites for the series on some of Mackay's history.
	Mackay City Council provides information regarding all council services. The have a Local History Room at the Mackay City Library which holds varied items of Mackay's documented history and holds stocks of the early Daily Mercury newspapers on Microfilm

Australian Museums On Line (AMOL)	Database with most museums galleries and Historical Associations in Australia as well as help guides on museum and collection management.
Queensland State Archives	Research hints and searchable database on holdings
State Library of Queensland	Links to other Queensland websites and searchable databases.
Picture Queensland	Searchable database on historic photos held by State Library and John Oxley Library
National Trust of Queensland	Listing of all historical properties managed by the trust.
National Archives of Australia	searchable databases including photographic collections.
Australian War Memorial	Excellent site for researching former servicemen with several searchable databases.
Internment Net	Searchable databases for cemeteries around the world but only if someone has submitted the details. Many Australian cemeteries listed.
Rootsweb World Connect	Best source for starting on family tree locating those long lost relatives and enables you to list your own family tree. This has been the best source I have found for long lost family contacting you.
LDS FamilySearch	As with Rootsweb but lists the information held by the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. If you find the records online just order the microfilm through your local LDS church.
