Stage 2 of the Mackay Historical Society's local museum opened on 6 May 2004.
The museum will hold local artefacts as well as displays on the history of Mackay from the first inhabitants to the present day. We will also have a research area as well as souvenirs and publications for sale on Mackay History.

The Museum is located at 3 Casey Avenue, South Mackay (the entrance road to the Mackay airport just off Bridge Road. We are next the Respite Centre. |

PLEASE NOTE: The museum will be closed for the months of December 2006 and January 2007. We will re-open on the first Thursday of February 2007.
The museum is open from 10.00am to 2.00pm on Thursdays and on the first Sunday of each month at the same times.
We will endeavour to increase the opening hours once our volunteer base is increased.
Entry by gold coin donation.
